The word Reiki means "universal life force energy". A Japanese Buddhist Priest by the name of Dr Mikao Usui discovered, after many years of studying, a way of accessing and using healing energy. He also passed this treatment on to others. During the later stages of his life he founded Usui Reiki Ryhpoho,which means Usui Spiritual Energy Healing Method. Today this is widely known throughout the world as Reiki.

Reiki is a safe and very relaxing treatment, gentle and unobtrusive. The only item of clothing you need to remove for the treatment are your shoes.

When you arrive for treatment you will be made to feel most welcome. We will endeavour to answer any questions you have to help put your mind at ease. One question we are asked regularly is 'How does Reiki work?' Basically the Life Force Energy is channelled through our bodies, out of our hands and into your body. You may feel warmth or tingling sensations as the Life Force Energy enters your body.

You will be invited to lie on the therapy couch or sit on a reclining chair if you prefer. When you are comfortable you will then be offered a nice warm cover just to help you relax a little more. Pleasant relaxing background music will then be played and your treatment will begin. You can close your eyes, relax and enjoy the experience of receiving Healing Life Force Energy. The hand positions start at your head and slowly work down your body. You will begin to relax so deeply from the warm feeling and listening to the relaxing music that you may even drift off to sleep.

The treatment takes around one hour but please allow a little extra time. The reason for this is that you may feel so relaxed that it may take you a little extra time to return from the deeply relaxing experience. Please click to email us or phone 01782 765508
